These bad boys tag along with me to any party I go to or host. They are soooo simple!!

I use one Pillsbury Crosant package
Roll it out a little so you get more (plus the thinner dough makes flaker wraps)
I cut each triangle into 4 pieces, these will look really small, but it’s better in the end. The dough doesn’t over power the dog this way.
I roll ‘lil smokies up in each piece (I get the cheddar smokies to add a little extra somethin somethin)
Place them on your baking sheet and cook for about 12 to 15 minutes. Check them around 12 due to most ovens cooking at different rates.
Serve with some different kinds of mustard and you will have a bite sized hit at any shin dig!!

Remember this post? Well I almost forgot to tell you the story behind it. You see, Michelle and I had a brilliant idea for Christmas gifts for our girlfriends this year. We were going to make hand made luminaries. Simple, right? We had a tutorial from Pinterest, so really… how hard could it be?

First, we started by filling the water balloons. Again, this seemed like a simple task until we realized none of the spouts in my house’s bathrooms fit the little things. We got a few filled… after many breaking and a lot of water splash splashing around which was quite comical.

Second task, the wax. We bought a huge brick because, like I said, these were going to be our gifts for everyone so we needed a lot of wax, right? We bought two different color dyes so we needed the wax split in half. Enter my husband… who ended up having to use a saw to break this stuff in half.

Third task. melt the wax. This part was easy! Once the wax melted down we were ready to go. Michelle and I learned a very valuable lesson this day. Dipping a water balloon in hot wax that has boiling water around it will make the balloon POP… you will get water and wax EVERYWHERE. We turned off the burner and let the wax cool to about 150* and finally were in business.

Lastly we dipped quite a few of the balloons in the wax. Between each dip we rested them on the counter to make a flat bottom. After about 4 to 6 dips they rested and cooled.

I do not have a photo of the ‘water balloon popping’ process because it was to funny and between the water going everywhere and all of the laughter, I totally forgot to capture it. I also didn’t capture the final product because Michelle and I ended up not liking how small they were…

We plan on attempting this craft again someday but next time we will use Mylar balloons so they are thicker and make a bigger luminaries. I think the best part of this activity was how much Michelle and I laughed… we had SUCH a good time that we didn’t even care that our expectations were not met with our end result.

So, sorry girlfriends… next year we will try something different and hope it works out for your sake!
